Through the years, EPG has seen that vessel owners have varying degrees of experience and capabilities when it comes to response and management of their spill events. For the purpose of working cooperatively with our assureds, EPG has the broadest spill response network in the industry overseen by Ben Benson of Benson Environmental Services & Technology, Inc. (BEST), the exclusive spill response manager for EPG. With separate and independent spill response professionals located in strategic locations throughout the country, BEST is capable of supporting multiple pollution responses without any loss of its ability to respond to smaller pollution incidents.

Eliminating any potential for conflicts of interests, BEST is an independent stand-alone company. EPG and BEST work cooperatively with EPG assureds in promoting cost efficient and operationally effective responses to spill events. BEST employs the same Incident Command System tactics and strategy of spill response as used during the largest oil spill events in recent US history.

BEST’s approach is to size and scale the spill response as necessary based upon the geographical and environmental conditions presented during the event. This is done with particular emphasis on incorporating the assured’s knowledge and experience, including their unique capability to respond and support efforts as necessary.
